Rocket
French is a comprehensive Learn French
course. It utilizes a number of methods to
teach the language. These include an
interactive PDF course/book. This teaches you
the basics of French through to a fairly
advanced level. You will learn grammar,
reading, writing and comprehension skills from
this component of the course.
The second part of
the course is an audio course. This comprises
31 thirty minute mp3/cd lessons. Each lesson
focuses on a particular set of vocabulary,
grammar and a situation. There is an English
narrator and a native French speaking
contributor to the lessons. The narrator
directs the learning. The French speaker speaks
the French parts of the audio so that you get
an authentic accent to listen to and learn
from.
The third part of
the course is a series of games. As part of the
software, you get MegaVocab, MegaAudio and
MegaVerb. These are picture based games that
you can play on your PC. For instance, in
MegaAudio, you hear a word or sentence and 6
pictures appear on the screen. You have to
guess which picture represents the word or
sentence you have just heard. You get to answer
20 questions and are given a score at the end.
Additionally, there are flashcards that you can
physically print out and use as vocabulary
aids.
